If you are seeking various types of lights and electrical equipment related to the lighting system, you might find yourself unsure about which type to choose, one that meets technical standards. Are you seeking quality, reliable lighting fixtures at a reasonable price? Let us explore this together with Fermentum through this article!

1. CONCEPT OF LIGHTING SYSTEMS

Lighting is a crucial aspect in the operation of production facilities, ensuring continuous operation of factories and workshops both day and night. Industrial lighting design must prioritize safety, flexibility, and suitability for the scale of factory production. Additionally, emergency lighting systems and pathway lighting should be considered.

2. IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS WHEN CHOOSING INDUSTRIAL LIGHTING EQUIPMENT

    - Refer to industrial workshop lighting standards to select appropriate brightness levels.

    - Base the selection of lamps and the required quantity on ceiling height and floor area dimensions.

    - Choose a reputable supplier of industrial LED lights for quality assurance.

2.1. INDUSTRIAL WORKSHOP LIGHTING STANDARDS

    - Vietnamese Standard TCVN 7114-1:2008: on lighting criteria and quality.

    - Vietnamese Standard QCVN 09:2013: on efficient energy use in construction projects.

    - Vietnamese Ministry of Health Standard QCVN 22/2016/BYT: on lighting technical standards - Permissible lighting levels in workplaces.

    - Ensure visual comfort, no flickering lights, glare, or shadowing.

    - High-quality, durable, aesthetically pleasing, high luminous efficiency lighting equipment, environmentally friendly, and reduces operating costs.

    - Various color temperature ranges: 3000K, 4000K, 5000K, 6500K.

2.1.1. Industrial factory lighting standards

2.1.2. Scope of Application of Industrial Workshop Lighting Standards

Each workplace will require compliance with different lighting standards based on various lighting designs while still ensuring the safety and health of workers.

2.2. Ceiling Height

One of the determining factors for the type and quantity of lights used in a workshop is the height of the workshop's ceiling. Most workshops and factories have higher ceilings compared to other areas. When measuring the height, it's important to measure from the ceiling to the floor, as well as from the ceiling to the height of the working surface. These are essential measurements to prepare.

The general principle is based on the required lux level as per regulations. To achieve the necessary lux level, the light output and positioning of the lights need to be at a certain distance. However, there are other factors to consider when calculating lux levels, such as natural light and the contrast of the area.

As the floor and workspace are further away from the lights, higher ceilings require more light. This also means that the lights need to be highly efficient, and the spacing between them adjusted appropriately to achieve the ideal brightness. There are various types and sizes of workshop lights, including:

    - High Bay Lights

    - Low Bay Lights

    - Floodlights

    - Strip Lights

High bay lights are used for ceilings ranging from 6 to 14 meters high, commonly found in industrial workshops and commercial areas. On the other hand, low bay lights are used for ceilings up to 6 meters high, often seen in retail stores and public buildings.

2.3. CHOOSE THE RIGHT TYPE OF LIGHT TO USE

High Bay Lights

High bay lights typically have a round shape and are designed to be used on ceilings ranging from 6 to 14 meters high. With just one point of contact with the ceiling, high bay lights are one of the easiest types of workshop lights to install. They are often used in open spaces such as factories, warehouses, grocery stores, wholesale shops, and even aircraft hangars.

Low-bay light

Low bay lights are a type of light fixture that often uses diffused or frosted lenses to minimize glare. Depending on your space, you can mount these workshop lights on the ceiling or suspend them using cables or chains. They are commonly seen in grocery stores, wholesale shops, warehouses, factories, and other large spaces. They are a great choice for aisles or shelves as they provide a beam of light running along the length of the shelf.

Headlight

Headlights are used in areas outside the factory, suitable for entrances and parking lots.

Trough lights

Trough lights come in various forms, each serving different purposes and suitable for different types of spaces. There is single 1.2m or 0.6m light fixtures available, painted in white or with stainless steel reflectors, making them waterproof and suitable for environments with high humidity. Additionally, these light fixtures feature adjustable covers that can be installed in various spaces.

2.4. CHOOSE A QUALITY LIGHT SUPPLIER

Nowadays, LED lights have become an essential choice for lighting systems. While we don't need to consider the choice of lighting technology, it is challenging to select a quality LED light supplier. Many types of lights may look similar externally, and the technical specifications provided may seem excellent, or even when directly testing the brightness, it appears good. However, the truth is that the lights may not be good, with weak brightness or rapid light degradation, or they may break down quickly, with poor warranty policies.

So, how can we choose a reputable supplier? We advise customers to consider several aspects after selecting a supplier:

    - Begin by researching the supplier through their website, YouTube, etc., and look into the projects they have completed.

    - Test the supplier's consulting and design services.

    - Choose products that use quality LED chips such as Nichia, Osram, Cree...

    - Consider reputable brands such as Alloy (Thailand), Paragon, Philip, Panasonic, Rạng Đông, Schneider...

    - Demand quality certifications for products: quantity test certification, and compliance standards.

    - Require CO, and CQ certifications for the origin of key components of LED lights such as LED chips, and drivers.

    - Choose products with warranties of 3 years or more.

    - Request product trials to check the quality and experience the lighting firsthand.
